The driving force behind tomorrow are the students of today. Inan attempt to enable their capacity for initiative the Universityof Amsterdam in cooperation with the River Institute launched theLearning Lab to discover how best to create value for students andsociety through higher education. Education 3.0 means that studentsdesign much of their own development in this Lab, which resulted inan innovative learning landscape.
The course got a life of its own and on May 26th we close thefirst trajectory with a documentary and a co-creation event. Youare invited to see how this extraordinary experiment went and tomeet the pioneering students and current innovators of the totaleconomy. You will participate in the Lab by sharing your knowledgeto bring the student’s initiatives to a higher plane. Come help thenew shapers of society make a difference!
PROGRAM
DOCUMENTARY A film crew from Light stormproductions, and the students themselves have followed theadventures of the pioneering students. Their encounters, questions,and triumphs are an inspiration for everyone with a heart forlearning and life in general.
DISCUSSING THE LEARNING LAB The knowledgeeconomy requires creativity, self-knowledge, sense of initiative,and the capacity to connect. What do we want to give our students?How do we help them to give back? What are the fundamentalprinciples behind the Learning Lab that make it valuable? Twentystudents of the VU and UvA underwent the Learning Lab this year inprivate, and they will share their experiences for the firsttime.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE Students will launch threeof their initiatives at the event on which we will work together atthe event.
