The report, Climate Change Assessments: Review of the Processes
and Procedures of the IPCC, will be publicly released at a press
conference in the U.N.'s Dag Hammarskjold Library Auditorium
beginning at 10 a.m. EDT. The event will be webcast live and
archived for later viewing at http://www.un.org/webcast.
De IAC heeft als federatie van 'KNAW's' van de hele wereld het op
zich genomen te komen tot "an independent review of the processes
and procedures of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Based on this review, the IAC will issue a report with recommended
measures and actions to strengthen IPCC's processes and procedures
so as to be better able to respond to future challenges and ensure
the ongoing quality of its reports."
Bij deze presentatie zullen naast de KNAW President ook aanwezig
zijn: Harold Shapiro, de voorzitter van het IAC Committee to
Review IPCC en oud-president van Princeton University
(USA), Roseanne Diab, vice-voorzitter van het IAC
Committee to Review IPCC, van de Academy of Science of South
Africa, als ook Peter Williams, lid van het IAC Committee
to Review IPCC en vice president van The Royal Society
in Londen.
Het rapport zal bij deze gelegenheid worden aangeboden
aan U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon en IPCC voorzitter
Rajendra K. Pachauri.
