Euro-Surf in de maak

“Zoals Malcolm Read, mijn collega bij JISC en behept met ambivalente gevoelens jegens Frankrijk, het fijntjes noemt: the Bonn-accord. Dit is een historische overeenkomst waarvan nog moet blijken hoe succesvol het gaat worden. Maar voor het eerst in de geschiedenis hebben Duitsland, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, alle Scandinavische landen en natuurlijk Nederland het volgende geconstateerd:

‘The participants see digital content procurement as a central element within a broader strategy of Open Access and a comprehensive repository infrastructure. The system of scholarly communication is changing enormously and funding agencies must work with the other actors in the system, such as publishers and researchers, to move this agenda forward. By exploring the possibilities of multi-national negotiation in a pilot framework, the partners hope to build up bargaining powers and trust in the process.’
Het mooie is dat dit niet bij grote volzinnen blijft steken. De pilot waarvan sprake is start al in september van dit jaar. Ik houd u op de hoogte.”
