‘The South Korean Living Lab will kick off on 6 September in Pohang with a Game Jam during which Korean and Dutch students work together on developing a serious game in the field of healthcare. Participants are invited to explore new technologies and tools and test their skills in designing, developing, testing and making a brand new game.’

Na Korea: Rusland en Brazilië

‘Directly following the Game Jam, Dutch students and Korean students from Gachon University will create a second serious game for the Korean Invention Promotion Association (KIPA). The goal of this project is to develop a game for children in the 5th grade of primary school which helps stimulate and understand innovative thinking.’

Lecturer-researchers from two participating Korean institutions, Pohang University of Technology (POSTECH) and Seoul National University (SNU), will supervise the Lab, aided by the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU). Apart from the HKU, Fontys and NHTV University of Applied Sciences have also shown their interest in participating in this bilateral Creative Industry initiative. Nuffic Neso Korea will assist these institutions in finding partners in their preferred knowledge fields.

Another two Living Labs pilots on BioBased Economy (Brazil) and Energy (Russia) are expected to start later this year or at the beginning of next year. Furthermore, during the second half of this year Living Lab promotion material and a handbook will be made available to benefit all Dutch universities of applied sciences as a whole.
