12 augustus 2013 | Questions are raised over the validity of the law degree of China’s leader Xi Jinping. A copy of his unpublished dissertation – received by The Sunday Times in Hong Kong – gives rise to this doubt.
President Xi Jinping has written his dissertation on China’s rural marketization “with the help of others”, allege some critical Chinese academics. Also, the topic of the dissertation would be far from the discipline of law.
In 2002, at a crucial moment in his career, Xi Jinping received his post-graduate law degree for the thesis by the Tsinghua University. The Sunday Times suggests that those people helping Xi Jinping would have shortly after received promotion.
